Butter Cake
Last week in conjunction with Hari Raya, I baked something I've come to love since last year. A very simple butter cake :) Okay, that was a lie. It wasn't in conjunction of Hari Raya. Well, I was all alone at home with no one to talk to me, no one to go out with, so I had to keep myself entertained in order to not go berserk. 7 whole days to myself (Wednesday till Tuesday)... what's that song again, I hear? 7 lonely days~ Make one lonely week~~~ Hahahahahaaha.... Anyway, I got this simple recipe from the internet, here it is :- Things You Need125g butter1/2 cup caster sugar2 eggs1 teaspoon vanilla essence2 cup self raising flour (sifted)1/2 cup milk How To Do It1. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy2. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add vanilla essence3. Fold flour into creamed mixture alternating with milk, beginning and ending with flour4. Spoon into greased 20cm square cake tin5. Bake in moderate oven (180C) for 35-40 minutes until skewer inserted into center comes out clean6. Allow to cool in tin 5 minutes before turning out. Cool completely before icing
A few things to take note of. I didn't put icing. And I used loaf tin instead of the 20cm square tin. This recipe can only make 1 tin loaf of butter cake. So you might want to double up the quantity....
